Brenda West - “Wicked West”
Artist Bio:
Brenda West is a mushroom-obsessed sculptor/illustrator from the Oregon Coast - better known on the internet as “Wicked West” or “WkdWest” - and creator of the Funguise Friends.
She studied briefly at both Clatsop Community College and the University of Oregon, although the majority of her professional training has been acquired through years of workshops, conferences, classes, and very valuable first-hand experience.
Since opening her first online store in 2018, Brenda has enjoyed sharing her mushroom-inspired artworks with fans across the globe. These colorful fungus-themed figurines and illustrations have found homes in over 25 states and 9 different countries!
The humor and whimsy of Funguise Friends is approachable and fun - but Brenda is passionate about her subject matter, and loves to connect the real world science of mycology with her audience.
